OUR MISSION - Core Purpose
The Womenful Voice mission is to empower women and girls to advocate for themselves and address their own needs through quality education, training programs, and good health and well-being to achieve long-term positive outcomes.
OUR VISION - Future Aspirations
We envision a world where women can harness their potential, voice their matters safely, and independently attain their socio-economic welfare.
OUR VALUES - Fundamental Beliefs and Principles
Womenful Voice operates according to a set of principles or beliefs that guide our behavior and decision making. The following values are our fundamental beliefs and philosophies that underpin our organization's culture and define how we operate.
At Womenful Voice, we believe in promoting ownership among women and girls. We empower them to take ownership of their own lives, decisions, and actions. We encourage them to embrace their potential, cultivate their skills, and become active agents of change in their communities. By instilling a sense of ownership, we foster a spirit of independence, pride, and responsibility, enabling women and girls to pursue their dreams and aspirations with confidence
Trust is at the heart of our work. We strive to build trust among our team members, partners, and the communities we work with. We understand that trust is earned through consistent and reliable actions, transparent communication, and genuine care for the well-being and empowerment of women and girls. Trust enables effective collaboration, meaningful partnerships, and the creation of a safe and supportive environment for all.
Honesty is a fundamental value that underpins our work at Womenful Voice. We believe in being truthful, transparent, and accountable in all our interactions and engagements. Honesty guides our decision-making processes, program implementation, and relationships with our stakeholders. We are committed to providing accurate and reliable information, being truthful about challenges and limitations, and maintaining integrity in everything we do
We value effective communication as a core principle at Womenful Voice. We recognize that open and transparent communication is essential for building strong relationships, understanding the needs and aspirations of our stakeholders, and fostering collaboration within our organization and the communities we serve. By prioritizing effective communication, we ensure that information flows freely, ideas are shared openly, and everyone's voices are heard and respected.
We are driven by results at Womenful Voice. We are committed to making a tangible and positive impact in the lives of the women and girls we serve. Our programs and initiatives are designed to achieve measurable outcomes that lead to real change. We set clear goals, develop action plans, and continuously monitor and evaluate our progress to ensure that our efforts are effective and aligned with our mission.
What We Do
Womenful Voice was born out of the desire to effect lasting change for women and girls in Haiti. Haitian women’s roles and rights have typically been restricted through exposure to strict control of movement and controlling behaviors from their partner or husband. As a result, they are underrepresented in their community and in leadership roles. Despite their ability to lead their families and communities, this inequality holds them back from living a better life because it perpetuates the cycle of gender-based violence and poverty.
By providing Haitian women and girls with the knowledge, tools, and resources needed for a better life, we believe they can become stronger, more confident, autonomous, self-determined, and vocal - someone who can advocate for herself - leading to a happier, more fulfilling life, both personally and professionally.
At Womenful Voice, our programs to empower women and girls in Haiti are guided by the United Nations Global Goals, also known as the Sustainable Development Goals or SDGs because a woman who can advocate for herself is more likely to enjoy:
Increased self-esteem and self-worth: When you advocate for yourself, you demonstrate that your needs and opinions matter, which can boost your self-esteem and sense of worth.
Improved communication skills: Advocating for yourself requires strong communication skills, and practicing these skills can help you become a more effective communicator in all areas of your life.
Greater sense of control: When you advocate for yourself, you take control of your life and make decisions that align with your values and goals.
Increased respect from others: When you assert yourself and advocate for your needs, others are more likely to respect you and take you seriously.
More fulfilling relationships: When you advocate for yourself, you set healthy boundaries and communicate your needs clearly, which can lead to more fulfilling and satisfying relationships.
Better career opportunities: Women who advocate for themselves in the workplace are often more likely to be promoted, receive raises, and be taken seriously by their colleagues and superiors.
