About the Role

Job Summary:

This position will be responsible for facilitating and coordinating a robust community engagement strategy for Womenful Voice, with a particular focus on building relationships with volunteers, local community partners and service providers. The Community Engagement Coordinator will work closely with the staff to assist in the overall coordination of services and opportunities to ensure adherence to the organization mission and values of authentic youth engagement, building community, equitable practices that promote race equity, diversity and inclusion, and strengths-based practice. To succeed in this role, the person must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple priorities, have excellent communication skills, and be able to work under pressure.


Job Responsibility:

  • Cultivate relationships across diverse communities to provide new opportunities for women and girls around health, education, equality and financial independence.

  • Facilitate regular community meetings to foster relationship building, collaboration, and promote equitable services to women and girls.

  • Identifying and addressing improvements to working together to authentically support the beneficiaries.

  • Provide ongoing input, information, and materials (as requested) that support internal and external communication efforts about programming and opportunities.

  • Conduct outreach, recruitment,  screening for mentors, training and guidance  of  coaches, trainers, community partners, and other volunteers.

  • Participate in the continuous quality improvement and data-driven decision-making processes to assess the efficacy of programming and to drive programmatic refinements.

  • Ensure adherence to data collection requirements.

  • Support fundraising activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services, social impact design, development, marketing, social work, public policy or related field required.

  • Minimum two years’ experience in volunteer management, social impact design, corporate community relations, project management, community organizing or other related areas required; three years’ experience preferred.

  • Driver’s license and valid transportation required.

  • Technology skills including expertise with Microsoft Office and database management; willingness to learn new applications and identify innovative ways for technology to support organizational objectives.

  • Familiarity with asset-based and/or social impact design approaches to community development, volunteerism, corporate philanthropy and tutoring/mentoring.

  • Project management skills: ability to multitask, problem-solve, prioritize, delegate, and to create systems and processes.

  • Requires excellent knowledge, skills and abilities in data analysis and insight generation, translation of  issues into actionable efforts.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple priorities, and able to react and adjust quickly to changing conditions.

  • Excellent communication skills; able to communicate effectively and articulately in writing and orally.

  • Strong customer focus in all tasks and activities, even while at times under pressure.

  • Solid relationship management skills enhancing internal organizational relations and external community interactions.

  • Understands the roles and contributions of all sectors of the community and can mobilize resources (financial and human) through meaningful engagement.

  • Language: English (REQUIRED). French and Haitian Creole are an added advantage.
