His transformative journey began with his first trip to Haiti in late 2020, which left an indelible mark on his perspective and ignited a passion for driving positive transformation.
Born and raised in the United States, Riley’s extensive travels across various countries provided him with diverse cultural experiences. However, his visit to Haiti presented challenges of a different magnitude, shedding light on the disparities and struggles faced by the nation. Riley’s newfound perspective firmly believes that Haiti has the potential to experience growth and development on par with other nations. He recognizes the pivotal role that Womenful Voice plays in facilitating this transformation. The organization’s dedication to empowering women and girls resonates deeply with Riley’s conviction that progress stems from ensuring every voice is heard, and every individual is empowered.
Understanding the detrimental effects of Haiti’s patriarchal systems on the lives of women and children, Riley is acutely aware of the need for targeted efforts to break down unfair barriers. Our Committees

How We Support Our Staff & Strengthen Our Work

We believe strong organizations need more than good leadership; they need systems of support, accountability, and expertise. That is why Womenful Voice operates with a committee structure for each department.

Our committees ensure that:

  • Staff feel supported, not alone
  • Decisions benefit from specialized expertise
  • We remain accountable to our mission and community

How Our Committees Work

Our committees are made up of members from both our Board of Directors and our Board of Advisors. By joining a committee that matches their expertise, they provide focused, practical guidance, not just oversight.

Each committee is led by:

  • A Chair (a Board of Directors or Board of Advisory members)
  • A Co-Chair (the staff director of that department)

This structure ensures every decision is grounded in both leadership experience and on-the-ground reality.

Our Project Committee – A Special Rule

Because our work happens in Haiti, our Project Committee follows one non-negotiable rule:

At least 50% of the committee must be Haitian.

This guarantees cultural understanding, respect for local reality, and decisions made with the community, not for them.

Why This Matters

  • For staff: You have experts to turn to, not just a supervisor.
  • For donors: You see clear governance and accountability.
  • For the community: Haitian voices shape Haitian solutions.

Our committees combine Board of Directors and Board of Advisory members by expertise, so our staff gets the right support, and Haiti gets the right results.”
