March came as a season of celebration. It was a month where we shone a light on the women who shape our world, the quiet forces, the bold leaders, the everyday heroes whose impact often goes unspoken.
For me, last month felt personal. It was about reflection. I found myself thinking about the women who raised me, the co-founders who dreamed alongside me, the incredible team of women, and the men who stand with us, who make up the heart of Womenful Voice.
When women lead, great things happen. I’ve seen it with my own eyes. And nowhere is that truth more evident than in the work we do every day to support education in Haiti.

The Foundation of a Dream
I am surrounded by women who lead with their whole hearts. Our co-founders didn’t start Womenful Voice because it was easy. They started it because they understood something fundamental: when you invest in a girl, you change her life and the trajectory of her family, her community, and generations to come.
In the early days, Womenful Voice was a small group, mostly women, with a shared fire and a deep belief that we could build something lasting. We had our allies, too, men who saw the vision and said, “How can I help?” They walked beside us, not as saviors, but as partners in a movement we were all building together.
We made calls, stretched every dollar, and dreamed of a scholarship program that would pay for tuition and nurture a child’s entire future. Our co-founders wanted to create a space where students, especially girls, could see themselves not as statistics, but as leaders in the making.
That dream became our anchor. And it grew into something I never could have imagined alone.
Nurturing Futures, One Girl at a Time
The Scholarship Program was launched, and we knew it had to be about more than tuition. The question was: “What would we want for our own children?” The answer was simple: we would want them to feel seen, supported, and empowered to become whoever they were meant to be.
So that’s what we built.
We started with a goal to send 15 children to school. Through the generosity of our community, this year we exceeded our goal. We covered uniforms, books, and tuition. We even provided laptops because we believe that in today’s world, a child deserves every tool to thrive.

But the most important piece, the part that makes me most proud, is our mentorship program. This is where the nurturing happens. We begin walking with our students in high school and stay with them all the way through senior year. We teach computer literacy, guide them through college applications, and connect them with resources to start a business or pursue a career. We are with them for the long haul.
This year, ten children will begin the first year of this program. Ten futures. Ten young people who know that a community of women, and the allies who believe in us, are in their corner.
When I see our team in action, I see love in its most practical form. It’s the care that shows up to help a girl practice her computer skills. It’s the presence that holds her hand through a college application. It’s the commitment that says, “Your dreams are not too big. We’re here to help you carry them.”
The Love That Lasts
I’ve learned that real leadership doesn’t shout. It listens. It adapts. It stays.
For me, leadership has meant learning from the women around me, our co-founders, our team, the mothers and grandmothers in Haiti who sacrifice so their children can sit in a classroom. They’ve taught me that true impact isn’t a one-day celebration. It’s a daily commitment.
When I think about the young women we serve, I see the future we’re helping to build. A girl who stays in school is more likely to finish secondary school, join the workforce, and advocate for her rights. She becomes a leader. And leaders build communities that thrive.
That’s the ripple effect of women-led work. That’s what happens when we create space for girls to grow, for women to lead, and for allies to stand with us.
At the end of the month of March, I was thinking about the famous names in history books. I was thinking about the women I work with every day, the ones who show up, who nurture, who refuse to give up. I was thinking about the girls in Haiti who are stepping into their power because someone believed in them. And I was thinking about the men who walk alongside us, as leaders of our movement, as partners who know that when women lead, we all rise.
This is the love that lasts. It doesn’t fade with a calendar page. It builds futures, one scholarship, one mentorship, one girl at a time.
At Womenful Voice, we’ve made our choice. We choose love that shows up, nurtures and transforms. That choice sends seventy one (71) children to school this year. It will follow them through high school, college, and beyond.
A single scholarship starts at two hundred dollars ($200). But even sharing this post helps a girl know her dreams are not too big.
We hope you’ll walk with us.
